Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Virendra Kumar today launched the PM Daksh portal and app. Which has been launched to make skill development schemes accessible to the backward class, Scheduled Castes and cleaners. The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment has been implementing the Prime Minister's Efficient and Skilled Prosperity Beneficiary Scheme from the year 2020-21. Moreover, with just one click, a person can get information about skill development training programs that are becoming closer to a woman or a man and can easily register themselves for the appropriate training.

The Minister also chaired the National Conference

Kumar said some of the key features of the portal include availability of all information related to skill development for SCs, backward classes and cleaners, registration facility with the training institute and program facility for anyone interested. Facility to upload desired documents pertaining to personal information, facility to record your presence by face and eye examination during training and monitoring by photo and video clips during training etc.

The Minister also presided over the National Conference on Digital Best Practice and North East Summit. Celebrating the 75th year of the country's independence (Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav), the summit aims to empower people with intellectual and developmental disabilities through digital technology. Kumar asked the Department for the Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities to extend the conference across the country with greater participation of 'Divyangajans' as he believes that nothing can be discussed without the presence of real stakeholders.
